I finished this wallpaper like a month ago, but I’ve been so busy I didn’t have time to take proper photos till now. This is at Soft House in the Copycat building in Baltimore. It’s the biggest wall I’ve done so far- the entire wallpaper mural covers an area of about 50 ft. long x 12 ft. high.
I just got back from a visit to Jersey City, where I was installing this floral floor design for my friend Ann Liv Young‘s current project, the Sherry Truck. The one-time Hostess delivery truck is now being recreated as an eco-friendly mobile performance space where her character, Sherry will offer an array of delights, such as pink lattes, cakes and “therapy” sessions… I had a super time hanging out with AnnLiv, Michael & Lovey (AKA Rainbow Dash)! And I got to enjoy a delicious Sherry signature purple latte!
Hunting Ground is a beautiful new boutique that just opened on Falls Road in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore. I designed this section of floor for their fitting room area back in January, when the space was just beginning to go through an amazing renovation. (Click here to see photos of the installation in progress).
The boutique is owned by Jess Soulen & Jenna Hattenburg, and has new and vintage clothes for men & women, jewelry, books and musical instruments! The sign on the front was made by my talented friend Matt Gemmell.
The party was amazing! The photo booth turned out great, and everybody’s portrait looks beautiful! Thanks to Jen Mizgata, for taking such awesome pics! Here are a few of my faves, plus a few party shots. Amazing light projections by Greg St. Pierre!!!!! The rest of the photos are at happicake.com/photos
I am so excited about this. This is literally something I’ve been wanting to do for like 5 years. Ahhh dreams. A photo booth with some gangsta graphics and a pro photographer at a killer party. This will be a birthday dance party for me and 2 friends. And it’s a dress-up party! (something else I’ve always wanted to do. People BETTER dress up.) Anyway, this is a preview of my work in progress. Brainstorming about graphics (screen shot of my Illustrator file) and my construction of the actual thing (yes, i was working in these lighting conditions).
I finished the floor!
I just got all these crazy colorful flowers printed. I had been planning to put them on the outside of my bedroom doors, but I ended up having way more than I anticipated, so after laying them all on the floor to cut out, I decided that’s where they belong. But first, I’m painting it PINK!
First coat of paint (I’m doing the floor in thirds so I don’t have to move all my stuff out at once)
